Taraji P. Henson Celebrates 55 Years of Life, Talent and Black Excellence

Taraji P. Henson celebrated her 55th birthday on September 11, 2025, marking another milestone for an actress whose talent, personality and perseverance have made her one of Hollywood’s most recognizable stars. Born September 11, 1970, in Washington, D.C., Henson went on to study theater at Howard University before building a career that spanned nearly three decades.

Henson first captured widespread attention with memorable performances in Baby Boy and Hustle & Flow. She later earned an Academy Award nomination for her portrayal of Queenie in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
